Large-Scale Seizure of Cosmetics by the Italian Financial Police
ANSA reports that “270,000 cosmetic and personal care items containing a substance declared harmful to health were seized by the Guardia di Finanza of Verbania: three individuals have been reported” (ANSA 20/04/23).
The operation by the Guardia di Finanza is part of inspections aimed at verifying the removal of Butylphenyl methylpropional (BMHCA), whose use in cosmetics has been banned since March 2022, as promptly communicated by Chimica HTS to its clients.
Many alerts had already been issued in recent months on the European Commission’s Safety Gate website: the EU rapid alert system for dangerous non-food products.
If you want to ensure your products comply with regulations, rely on expert consultants such as Chimica HTS.
