EUDR: new products covered by due diligence obligations
With the publication of Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2026/2102, the European Commission has amended Annex I to Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 on deforestation (EUDR), extending the list of products subject to the obligations set out in the legislation.
Among the main changes is the inclusion of soaps and several oleochemical derivatives of palm oil, substances also widely used as raw materials and ingredients in the detergent, cosmetics and chemical industries.
The amendment may affect companies that import, produce or place such products on the European Union market. The applicable obligations vary according to the role played by the company in the supply chain — for example operator, downstream operator or trader — and to how raw materials are sourced.
Aspects to be assessed include due diligence obligations, supply chain traceability and the retention of information on suppliers and customers.
Application dates vary depending on the products added (for example, 30 December 2027).
Is your company affected?
Correct application of the EUDR requires, first of all, checking the customs codes of the products, the origin of the raw materials and the role the company plays within the supply chain.
Chimica HTS supports companies in analysing the products concerned, identifying the applicable obligations and achieving compliance with the EUDR.
